Hi, my name is Sabine, and I’m from Munich, Germany. I always loved to take pictures, as a child/teenager with an analog pocket camera (no zoom, but I loved those old cameras), later on with some small digital pocket cameras (with zoom – what a revolution for me!). Things got a bit more serious in 2012/2013 when I bought my first DSLR, a second-hand Canon 400D, and soon after a Canon 600D. Then I got a bit crazy and startet photographing concerts without really knowing what to do. I only knew I loved music and wanted to capture this love and all the special moments on (digital) film. And I never stopped.
Nine years ago I changed my gear and bought a Nikon D610, together with the usual lenses for concerts (mostly Tamron). Right now I’m using a Nikon D750, and I still love full frame with a mirror. But we’ll see, maybe one day I’ll change to mirrorless. But not now.
I love the dark stuff, Gothic, EBM, Synth, Dark Wave, Industrial, Black Metal, Death Metal and so on, but also 70ies (Retro) Rock, Folk, Indie and Punk. When not standing in front of a stage I like to explore cemeteries or to stalk squirrels and birds in parks.
All concert pictures are taken for the webzine I also write for, Schwarzes Bayern. Have a look!
In my ordinary life I’m a translator of books. If you’re interested in this kind of work, take a look at my website Thieletext.
The beautiful picture above is from my very dear friend Eva Stadler, a great photographer and wizard for everything layout-print-graphics-bookconception-related. Take a look at her website!
